Exam Categories & Syllabus
The exam consists of
the following core sections
Vocabulary
Test your knowledge of word meanings, synonyms, antonyms, and context-based questions
Grammar
Assess your understanding of sentence construction, tenses, punctuation, and parts of speech
Writing Skills
Compose short essays or answer writing prompts, with tasks suited to your class level
Reading Comprehension
Answer questions based on passages to test your understanding and analysis of the content
Class-Specific Syllabus
Classes 1st to 4th
Basic vocabulary, simple sentence structures, and short reading comprehension passages. Grammar topics like subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and basic sentence construction
Classes 5th to 8th
Expanded vocabulary, more complex sentence structures. Advanced grammar topics including tenses, conjunctions, and more detailed punctuation rules. Longer reading comprehension tasks and more complex writing prompts
Classes 9th and Above
Advanced vocabulary, academic and subject-specific terminology, and formal tone usage. Grammar focus on complex structures like conditional sentences, active-passive voice, direct-indirect speech, and error spotting. Reading and writing skills include analytical comprehension, summarization, and structured essay/report writing. Spoken English development through debates, presentations, and interview skills.
